My goals with this site are to:

  1. Reduce Your Stress! – That sums up my job description as I see it. Dealing with benefits issues is often more stressful and complicated than dealing with your medical issues. I’ve had clients complain that, "My life would be a lot easier if all I had to worry about was my illness."
Hopefully this site will give you information and direction. Knowing what’s ahead and what you have to do to get there relieves stress. It also helps to know that there’s someone on your side who can answer your questions and help with problems should they arise.
  2. Level the playing field – You and I know that benefits are not a game, but the people handling them often treat it like one. It’s not about what’s "fair", it’s about what the rules say. If you don’t know the rules, it’s like playing poker without understanding the game; you’ll lose. However, if you know what the rules are and what they require to establish your claim, you have a much better chance of an approval the first time around.
  3. Remind you that you are not alone – Many people dealing with disability feel very isolated. Friends may start treating you differently, and your family, as much as they try, really don’t understand all that you are dealing with. Doctors, as great as they are at medical treatment, often don’t appreciate or can do little about the ripple effect of your medical condition on every aspect of your life. People dealing with disabilities also can feel overwhelmed when dealing withinsurance companies, Social Security, and the other big bureaucracies that must be dealt with. “Am I doing it right?”, “What have I missed?”, “Am I getting the right information?”, “Do they care about me at all?”

This site and I are here to give you the information, support, and guidance you need to take control and handle your issues so you can get on with your life.
